-Linda Mayo “Creative Writer”
Linda Mayo was born and raised in the rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. She has worked as an Accounts Payable Manager for the last 25 years. She has spent most of her life in Virginia to be near family. Recently retiring, she looks forward to what comes next in this new journey of self-exploration.
Her love of novel writing began while working at the University Of Virginia. Being surrounded by a continuous learning culture she enrolled in 2 courses: Novel Writing and Creative Writing. It was a rewarding experience. The critics in the class said they loved her writing. The support from her peers encouraged her to finish the book “Lydia’s Gift” that she drafted during the course. She also expanded her writing into three more books: Bridge Over Time, Timeless, and Time For Love.
However, this was not her first foray into writing. In 1977, after the devastating death of her fiancé, she immersed herself into writing poems for self-healing. She entered a Poem into a contest where she placed 4th in the event. All submitted poems were published in a book called ‘World Of Poetry’.
